Play Along to “Rocky Top” with Blanco Brown and Lucius “Spoonman” Talley Using the Spoons
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's Adam Ollendorff is joined by Blanco Brown and Lucius "Spoonman" Talley for a rendition of "Rocky Top" using the spoons, an art form practiced by Bobby Hebb.
Long before Hebb wrote his hit song “Sunny,” the Nashville native learned to play spoons and tap dance in his family’s band, Hebb’s Kitchen Cabinet Orchestra. For five years in the 1950s, Hebb appeared with Roy Acuff and the Smoky Mountain Boys, playing spoons and tap dancing on country music’s biggest stage, the Grand Ole Opry. Hebb was influenced by many different types of music and created his own unique, successful sound.
Presented in support of the Museum's Discover Bobby Hebb Project.
