Hailey Whitters, the Academy of Country Music's New Female Artist of the Year for 2023, grew up in a small midwestern farming town, much like one of her biggest influences, Martina McBride. In this behind-the-scenes look into the making of the Museum exhibit "American Currents," Whitters discusses her relationship to McBride, including what it means to be featured alongside her in the exhibit.

Nominated for CMA's 2023 New Artist of the Year, Megan Moroney released a debut album, "Lucky," that shows off her smoky, distinctive voice, as well as a knack for weaving stories of romance in the digital age into a tradition-based country sound. Her songwriting journey began over a decade ago, after discovering Kacey Musgraves's "Same Trailer, Different Park."

Jessie Jo Dillon, daughter of Country Music Hall of Fame member Dean Dillon, is a Grammy-nominated songwriter and in 2019 was named Songwriter of the Year by the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Dillon's songwriting cuts include Brandy Clark's "Buried" and Old Dominion's "Memory Lane," as well as tracks recorded by Hardy, Jelly Roll, Lori McKenna, and Megan Moroney. In addition to her father, Dillon considers songwriter Cindy Walker among her greatest influences.

“American Currents: State of the Music,” the annual Museum exhibit spotlighting country's latest chapter, is now open. Explore the stories of women making waves in country music today.
