Molly Tuttle on Her Inclusion in “American Currents” and the Inspiration for Her New Album
Multi-instrumentalist Molly Tuttle—the first woman to be named the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Guitar Player of the Year—is a featured artist in this year's installment of "American Currents: State of the Music." The annual Museum exhibition offers perspective on country music's latest chapter.
In this clip from the exhibit's opening celebration, Tuttle discusses her grandfather's guitar, which is on display in "American Currents." "That's really where it all came from for me," she says, going on to describe her grandfather's affinity for the music of Hank Williams and later Flatt and Scruggs. "That just kind of directly inspired my latest record, 'Crooked Tree.'"
"American Currents" is open now through February 2024. Plan your visit at https://www.countrymusichalloffame.or….
