John Sebastian ‘Live at the Hall,’ 2021

John Sebastian—best known as founder, front man, and principal songwriter of the Lovin’ Spoonful—joins the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for a conversation and performance, as part of the “Live at the Hall” series.

Sebastian discusses his career in folk, country, pop, and rock music, and performs Lovin’ Spoonful songs with guitarist Arlen Roth (his collaborator on 2021 album “John Sebastian and Arlen Roth Explore the Spoonful Songbook”).

Among the songs: the 1966 track “Nashville Cats,” in which Sebastian extols the talent of the city’s musicians. The title became a widely accepted catchphrase for Nashville studio professionals, and in 2015, the Museum incorporated it into the name of major exhibition “Dylan, Cash, and the Nashville Cats: A New Music City,” now adapted and available for online audiences here: https://countrymusichalloffame.org/ex…
