Deke Dickerson, Tommy Emmanuel, and Eddie Pennington perform in honor of Merle Travis.

During AmericanaFest, the Museum celebrated Merle Travis with a conversation and performance presented in partnership with the Americana Music Association. The program explores the musician’s life, work, and legacy and features special guests Deke Dickerson, co-author of the 2022 book “Sixteen Tons: The Merle Travis Story,” master guitarists Tommy Emmanuel and Eddie Pennington, and Travis’s daughters.
