The Story Behind Clint Black’s Newspaper Trophy

In this interview hosted by Museum writer-editor Erin Osmon, country star Clint Black explains how he earned this newspaper sales trophy in 1978.

Hard work has been central to Black's career since the start. He started selling newspapers at age fourteen and became so successful that he was almost made manager of his own sales crew. His efforts won him this trophy and a gift certificate, which he used to buy a rifle that he still has today.
