The Heart Wranglers • Writers Round • 2026
Trannie Anderson and Dallas Wilson are Lainey Wilson’s most consistent songwriting partners. During this program, the three friends—who call themselves the Heart Wranglers—share stories from their lives and perform songs they’ve written. This program, presented in support of the exhibition _Lainey Wilson: Tough as Nails_, was recorded on January 13, 2026.
During this program, the Heart Wranglers perform an array of songs they’ve co-written, including “Road Runner,” “Counting Chickens,” “Whirlwind,” “Somewhere Over Laredo,” “Country’s Cool Again,” “Heart Like a Truck,” and “People Need Jesus.” The three songwriters also tell the stories behind the songs and share what it’s like writing together.
Additionally, the Heart Wranglers perform Lainey’s song “Wildflowers and Wild Horses,” written by Lainey, Trannie, and Paul Sikes. Dallas and Trannie also play “Can’t Have Mine (Find You a Girl),” recorded by Dylan Scott, which Dallas co-wrote with Matt Alderman and Josh Melton.
The members of the Heart Wranglers have earned Grammy, Country Music Association, and Academy of Country Music nominations for their co-writes, including the singles “Heart Like a Truck,” “Somewhere Over Laredo,” “Wildflowers and Wild Horses,” and “Whirlwind,” as well as other songs released across Lainey’s albums. Lainey and Trannie have known each other since 2015, and they both met Dallas in 2017.
