Co-writing Country Music History: Vince Gill on Bill Anderson
In 2021, Vince Gill visited the Museum to celebrate longtime friend, songwriting partner, and fellow Country Music Hall of Fame Member, Bill Anderson. At the opening reception of Anderson’s Museum exhibit, “Bill Anderson: As Far As I Can See,” Gill performed “Which Bridge to Cross (Which Bridge to Burn),” a song the pair co-wrote.
In this clip, Gill describes that co-writing process and reflects on Anderson’s longevity as a songwriter. “There are times where you don’t feel relevant,” he says, “You know, if you were great at it in 1957, nothing’s changed. You’re still one of the greats at telling a story.”
For more stories from Anderson's impressive career, don't miss the chance to visit “Bill Anderson: As Far As I Can See,” open now through March 19: https://www.countrymusichalloffame.or…
