HARDY on Writing “wait in the truck”

In January of 2023, HARDY, a two-time Academy of Country Music Songwriter of the Year, released his second studio album, "the mockingbird & THE CROW." A mixture of upbeat, modern country and harder, darker rock, the album includes the hit song "wait in the truck," a duet with singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson.

HARDY is featured alongside Wilson in this year's installment of "American Currents: State of the Music," the annual Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum exhibition designed to offer perspective on country music's latest chapter. In this clip from the exhibit's opening celebration, HARDY discusses his inspiration for writing "wait in the truck."

"American Currents" is open now through February 2024. Plan your visit at https://www.countrymusichalloffame.or….
